The history of the awesome “Rock” in Manhattan.

The Rockefeller Center is a set of 19 commercial buildings between 48th and 51st streets in Midtown Manhattan. Top of the Rock Viewpoint is one of New York’s most important tourist attractions and is located at the top of the GE building at Rockefeller Center. The headquarters of NBC and Radio City Music Hall are also part of the Rockefeller Center. The Rockefeller Center and the lookout were gifts from John D. Rockefeller to Manhattan so that tourists and locals could marvel at the city. The Rockefeller Center has had many ups and downs since the completion of construction in 1933.The Rockefeller skating rink opened in 1936. Initially it was designed as a temporary ice skating rink to attract more people but eventually became an annual event. The capacity of the track is 150 people.
